Little Knights Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten

Blessed Sacrament School’s Little Knights Preschool and PreKindergarten program are open to children age 3 through age 5.  In addition to their classroom activities, our Little Knights take weekly enrichment classes in Music, Movement, Art, Technology, and Spanish.

The Diocese of Raleigh believes that a developmentally appropriate Catholic preschool experience provides an environment that allows freedom to play, explore and discover the wonders of God’s world in the course of a child-oriented day.  We believe children learn most effectively through sensory experiences and activities that stir the imagination and encourage exploration.
 
      It is essential for children to develop a well-adjusted sense of self in an environment that affords opportunities to attempt new skills and recognize that learning involves trial and error.  Within the classroom, children freely interact with peers and adults developing a sense of trust and respect for individuals.  By providing a curriculum that integrated all areas of a child’s development, children can learn and reach their maximum potential.  

Objectives of a Catholic Preschool

• Assess the developmental stage of the child with particular emphasis on his/her strengths and needs
• Offer opportunities for the child to explore and take appropriate risks without fear of failure
• Clarify curriculum expectations through staff development
• Structure thematic teaching-learning plans
• Offer enrichment activities using outside resources such as programs and speakers that complement themes
• Provide developmentally appropriate activities that promote the spiritual, social, intellectual, emotional, and physical development of the child
• Recognize and encourage the unique contribution each child and family offers to the early childhood community.

Programs Offered:

Little Knights Program Hours:

·         Half-Day: 7:45a.m. – 12:00p.m.
             Full Day:  7:45a.m. - 3:00p.m.     

Enrollment Options:

Preschool Old Program: Five days a week (M-F), half or full day
Pre Kindergarten Program: Five days a week (M-F), half or full day
