Drop Off / Pick Up

Dropping off and picking up your student
We are a neighborhood school and ask that you take care to respect our neighbors yards and driveways!  Please do not block through traffic or neighboring driveways at any time.

Little Knights will be dropped-off by the stairs near their playground. Parents will need to sign in their child. Please park in the parking lot or across the street. If you park across the street, please do not block our neighbor’s driveway. DO not park on the right side of the street.  Little Knights arriving after 7:45 must use the front door.

If there are multiple children from different grades they may be dropped off at the youngest child’s location.

Kindergarten-8th Grade will enter at the front door. 

Students arriving between 7:10 and 7:30 will proceed to the MPR and sit with their class.

On Mondays, we will have flag-raising in the MPR. Parents are welcome to join us. Flag-raising will begin promptly at 7:45 on Mondays. 

Tuesdays-Fridays, students will be dismissed by class to their homeroom at 7:30. Flag-raising will begin at 7:50 via the phone.

Please be aware that if your child arrives after 7:45, they will be considered late. Please see handbook concerning tardies. Classes will begin promptly at 8:00AM.

If your child arrives after 7:50, you must walk your child to the front door. Please do not let your child come in alone as teacher supervision has ended. Being on time as a student instills in them the importance of being punctual. 

Afternoon Pick Up: Our faculty and staff work to ensure that afternoon pick up moves as smoothly, safely, and quickly as possible.  In order for this to be possible, we ask the following:
1.   ALL cars must have a car sign in place on the rear view mirror.  Car signs are distributed at Unpack and Peek or sent home the first day if you did not attend Unpack and Peek.
2.   Students may no longer be picked up at the dismissal door.  If you and your child are walking home please stand out at the front sidewalk in eyesight of the faculty member at the dismissal door.

Hillcrest is a one-way street during school hours.  If you are exiting Hillcrest and taking a left, you should follow traffic laws for one-way streets and make your turn from the left-hand side of the road.
