PE Prayer:

Lord, Let me play well, but fairly.
Let competition push me to do my best, but never be unkind.
See me not when I celebrate, but when I help my opponent up.
Help me to persevere in the face of defeat.
Give me the courage to play until the very end.
Help me always to show good sportsmanship winning,
as well as, losing.
Amen

Fitness Gram
According to the Diocese of Raleigh Physical Education Curriculum D.6 Students must meet health related fitness standards for appropriate level of a standardized physical fitness test.  FITNESSGRAM was developed by The Cooper Institute in an effort to provide physical educators with a tool that would facilitate communicating fitness testing results to students and to parents. The assessment measures three components of health-related physical fitness that have been identified as important to overall health and function: aerobic capacity; body composition; and muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility. Standards have been set for boys and for girls based on age. The use of health-related criteria helps to minimize comparisons between children and to emphasize personal fitness for health rather than goals based solely on performance. Students in grades 1-8 will participate in the Fitness Gram once in the fall and once in the spring in order to measure progress.
